WELCOME TO THE FINAL PERIOD (1900-PRESENT)!!!! It’s easy to look at this unit as just “The World Wars”. Don’t get caught in that trap. It kicks off with a farewell to some places we’ve been studying for months: China, Russia, and the Ottomans. Then, it’s World War Time. The World Wars are impossibly too much to study in this context. So, the College Board does you a solid and only requires you to know their causes and the new technologies used in the fighting. In between? There is a massive economic calamity to deal with and some unresolved tensions. The last section is devoted to “Mass Atrocities” which is code for Genocide. See how that banner up there says 1900-Present? Well, 95% of this unit is devoted to 1900-1945. The next two units pick up with the aftermath of WWII.
